About this trip

Join a small group on a tour of France! 


Explore medieval cities, charming seaside resorts, historic monuments and beautiful Renaissance chateaux on this 12 night, 13 day tour. Discover more about General Lafayette and his links to the US, and celebrate Independence Day in Paris, the City of Light. 


This tour will include so many exciting places: Monet’s Garden; Normandy’s D Day landing beaches; Mont St Michel; the Lace Museum in Alencon,; Le Mans; Loire Chateaux; Guedelon - the medieval castle 30+ years in the making in Burgundy- not to mention Paris where we will have a guided tour plus free time to explore independently!

Pricing

The price for 10 - 14 tour participants is €5,070 per person.

Price for 15 + participants will be €4,090 per person. Once this number of participants has been reached the price on the site will be updated.


Single supplement is €1,550 per person.


Deposit payment of €500 per person required at registration.

2nd deposit payment is due by 16 January 2026

Final balance due by 10 May 2026

Terms and Conditions

Cancellations and Refunds:

Individual cancellations received in writing on or before 19 September 2025 will be subject to a forfeiture of €50.00. Thereafter, individual cancellations will be subject to the following forfeit of the tour price: 


(a) if received in writing after 19 September 2025 and on or before 15 January 2026: Loss of deposit

(b) if received in writing after 15 January and on or before 23 March 2026: 30% of the tour price

(c) if received in writing after 23 March and on or before 10 May 2026: 50% of the tour price

(d) if received in writing after 10 May and on or before 8 June 2026: 75% of the tour price

(e) No refund for cancellations received after 8 June 2026


Access:

A reasonable level of fitness is required for this tour – participants should be able to walk up one flight of stairs and at least half a mile. Step-free access to hotel rooms and showers cannot be guaranteed. 

Please ensure that you bring suitable footwear for walking, occasionally on unpaved and uneven ground.

Normandy

Depart Paris this morning and travel to Normandy. Stop at Giverny en route for a visit to Monet’s Garden. 


Continue via Rouen, with a guided tour here to include entrance to the magnificent Cathedral, then on to the coast to check in to your hotel in Trouville for a 3 night stay.


Welcome dinner this evening in hotel restaurant.

Day 3: Friday 26 June

Honfleur, Deauville and Trouville

Enjoy a visit to Honfleur this morning, with a guided walking tour of the picturesque town to include the Vieux Bassin and St Catherine’s Church. Continue to Deauville and admire the grand architecture and beautiful beach of this sophisticated resort town. 


Return to Trouville to see the harbour and its famous fish market, walk along the boardwalk and view the Savignac murals. The remainder of the day will be at leisure in Trouville for independent sightseeing and shopping.

D Day Landing Beaches

This morning depart for a tour of the D Day landing beaches. 


Visit Omaha Beach, the Normandy American Cemetery and the small town of Arromanches-les-Bains, where you will have free time for independent lunch. View the remnants of the artificial Mulberry Harbour and perhaps visit the D Day 75 Garden here.


Return to Trouville via Caen. Visit the Memorial de Caen, a museum and war memorial dedicated to the history of the 20th century and in particular commemorating World War II and the Battle for Caen.

Granville and Avranches

Depart your hotel this morning and travel to Granville. Upon arrival visit the Christian Dior Museum, a Belle Epoque 19th century clifftop villa which was the fashion designer's childhood home. 


Continue to Avranches for free time for independent lunch followed by a visit to the Scriptorial d’Avranches, explaining and displaying the illuminated manuscripts of the Mont Saint Michel.


Arrival at your hotel close to Mont Saint Michel in the late afternoon to check in.

Day 6: Monday 29 June

Mont Saint Michel

Transfer the short distance to Mont Saint Michel for a full day tour today. 


Start your visit at the imposing Abbaye at the top of the Mont with an audio-guided tour. Explore the cloisters, refectory and the stunning church for panoramic views of the bay. 


This afternoon take time to wander the narrow cobbled streets of the village below. Discover quaint shops and cafes, and the Church of Saint Pierre. Enjoy the views from the ramparts and perhaps visit the Historical Museum, the Logis Tiphaine or the Maritime Museum.


Return transfer to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Loire Valley

Depart your hotel and travel to Alencon for a visit to the Lace Museum, including a demonstration of lace making if available (given in French).


After free time for independent lunch in the town centre, continue to Le Mans. Here you will have the opportunity to visit the Museum of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  (subject to availability - the museum is closing in July 2025 for refurbishment but plans to reopen in June 2026)


In the late afternoon travel on to Amboise to check in to your hotel for a 2 night stay.

Chateaux of the Loire Valley

Today you will tour some of the most famous Chateaux of the Loire Valley. 


This morning travel to Villandry where you will visit to the magnificent 16th century Chateau, a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, and its extensive gardens spread across several terraces.


There will be time for lunch on site or in one of the cafes in the picturesque village before continuing for a visit to the Chateau de Chenonceau. This is one of the best-known of the Loire chateaux thanks to its iconic arched bridges across the river Cher inspired by Florence's Ponte Vecchio.  


Return to Amboise for an evening at leisure

Guedelon

Depart the Loire Valley this morning and drive to Guedelon, to visit the extraordinary chateau which is being constructed using only technology and materials of the Middle Ages.


Continue to Paris, arriving in the late afternoon to check in to your hotel for a 4 night stay.

Versailles and Paris

  

This morning depart for Versailles with a stop en route at the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial Cemetery which commemorates the volunteer American pilots who gave their lives during the Great War under French colours before the entry of the United States. 


Continue to visit the magnificent Chateau de Versailles, originally built by Louis XIII as a hunting lodge and transformed by Louis XIV into an opulent palace. 


After free time for independent lunch return to central Paris to enjoy a guided tour with a focus on Lafayette. Visit his grave at Picpus Cemetery, and view the monument erected in his honour at the Cours de la Reine along the bank of the Seine. View other iconic landmarks including the Hotel des Invalides, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral.
